Chris is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nutrition and Movement Sciences at Maastricht University. His core research centres on the control and adaptation of gait stability in healthy and clinical populations, focusing on falls risk and reduction among older people. Two specific subtopics within this work are using mechanical perturbations to assess and train reactive balance, and the role of vestibular function in balance and gait. Chris is also interested in human locomotion more broadly, and has been involved in studies of human jumping and running and is a track and field coach in his spare time.
